Alaska Airlines is boarding fliers in kitschy sweaters early on Dec. 16. Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and Chipotle are also offering festive freebies.
Ugly holiday sweaters are still pretty fly.
Alaska Airlines is celebrating National Ugly Sweater Day on Dec. 16 by gifting customers wearing the kitschy tops with early boarding across its 115-city network, including flights operated by Virgin America and Horizon Air.
“Travel during the holidays can be stressful for guests, especially those who do not travel often,” said the airline in a statement. “This fun promotion not only allows guests to board early on that day, but gives people another opportunity to dust off that ugly holiday sweater hanging in the back of their closet.”
It’s not the only company getting in the holiday spirit. Brands like Chipotle, Krispy Kreme and Macy’s are also rewarding festive shoppers who come donned in their gay apparel, while brands like Starbucks are dishing freebies in the weeks before Christmas.
