The “Maleficent” actress is reportedly closing in on the former estate of director Cecil B. DeMille
Talk about self care.
Actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has reportedly had a bid for the former home of the legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille accepted. According to gossip site TMZ, the “Kung Fu Panda” star had offered close to the $24.95 million asking price and that the cash was currently in escrow.
The six bedroom and 10 bathroom Beaux Arts mansion was built in 1913 and sits across 2.1 acres of elevated land, according to realtors Hilton & Hyland, who hold the listing. A Great Gatsby-esque vintage pool, a pool house and a smaller building also come with the estate. Naturally, the famously secluded grounds have high walls and gates to keep the prying paparazzi out.
The Los Angeles property has been updated since DeMille, who directed the 1956 classic “The Ten Commandments,” died almost 60 years ago. A recent renovation took six years and included raising certain ceilings, expanding the kitchen and library, as well as sprinkling period-appropriate plants for landscaping, per Mansion Global.
Since her split with Brad Pitt, Jolie has been largely holed up in a Malibu beach house that she rented from “X-Men” director Bryan Singer. That property reportedly goes for about $80,000 a month.
No wonder Jolie seems to have quickly fallen in love with DeMille’s estate. The current owners only listed the property less than a month ago and multi-million dollar homes in L.A.’s Los Feliz neighborhood reportedly take a long time to sell.
