Some people can’t be bothered to cook breakfast
This takes breakfast in bed to a whole new level.
It’s now easier than ever to get breakfast delivered right to your door. Food delivery site Grubhub, which delivers in more than 1100 U.S. cities, offers breakfast delivery from participating restaurants. And UberEats is expanding the number of cities it offers breakfast delivery too — with Dubai adding its name to the list last month and New York in February.
In some cities, residents get breakfast delivered more than any other meal. According to custom data that Grubhub ran for Moneyish, residents of Kenilworth, NJ top that list. A spokesperson for Grubhub notes that this is likely because it’s a suburb of New York City and both busy commuters during the week and families on the weekends may be doing it so they don’t have to cook up breakfast.

People have a lot of opinions about breakfast delivery, as we recently discovered from an extensive Yelp thread on the topic. “I don’t want home breakfast delivery, unless there’s some way they can do it without my having to get out of bed,” writes one woman. Another notes that “not a lot of people eat breakfast. And those that do, prepare themselves” and another that “breakfast food doesn’t travel well.”
Others are all about it: “It’s my laziest time of the day. Why does no one deliver?” laments one woman. Another says breakfast delivery is “a great idea, I’d also treat it as a failsafe in case the alarm clock doesn’t work.”
